Why It Matters: Key personnel, including Principal Investigators, Co-Investigators, and other named senior staff, play a vital role in the success and integrity of sponsored projects. When these individuals leave USC, reduce their effort, or become disengaged for an extended period of time, sponsors often require prior approval before any changes can take effect. Failing to report such changes promptly may lead to disallowed costs, interruptions to project activities, or even termination of the award. By understanding USC’s procedures and collaborating closely with your DCG Officer, you can help ensure compliance, maintain project continuity, and preserve sponsor confidence.
