Welcome back to MicroLearning Mondays, our biweekly series of bite-sized research administration trainings brought to you by the Department of Contracts and Grants.
This week’s topic: Changes to Work Scope
Why It Matters:
Changes to the scope of work are among the most common post-award actions. These changes can significantly alter the objectives, approach, or key personnel originally approved by the sponsor. If not properly reviewed and approved, they can put your project at risk of noncompliance, funding delays, or audit findings. Knowing when a change constitutes a scope revision is essential to protecting your award and your research.
In This Video, You’ll Learn:
- What qualifies as a change in scope of work.
- Examples of common scope changes.
- When sponsor approval is required.
- How and when to notify your DCG Officer.
- Best practices to avoid compliance pitfalls.
