New Nominations

New Limited Submissions
Please find below ten limited submissions, seven of which are time-sensitive, for your perusal and distribution. Links to each opportunity are below.
(1) 2025 Packard Fellowships for Science and Engineering (time-sensitive)
Process for Packard
- PIs must submit their application as a Limited Submission through the Research Initiatives and Infrastructure (RII) Application Portal: https://rii.usc.edu/oor-portal/. We are not using our standard template for this opportunity; please see below for more information.
- Materials to Submit Include:
- (1) Research statement: Describe why the research is important and outline the general goals for the next five years. The statement should also indicate, in general, how funds will be used. This does not need to be a detailed budget and will not be binding on the actual use of funds. The research statement must be limited to 1,400 words (Maximum 2 pages of text, prepared in 12-point font with 1-inch margins). If there are relevant figures, images or references, include these separately on a third page.

- Process for Limited Submissions: PIs must submit their application as a Limited Submission through the Research Initiatives and Infrastructure Application Portal: https://rii.usc.edu/oor-portal/. PIs must create their own SurveyMonkey account in order to proceed with submission.
- Materials to Submit Include:
- (1) Two-Page Proposal Summary (1” margins; single-spaced; font type: Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman, or Georgia typeface; font size: 11 pt). Page limit includes references and illustrations. Pages that exceed the 2-page limit will be excluded from review.
- (2) CV – (5 pages maximum).
- Note: The portal requires information about the PIs in addition to department and contact information, including the 10-digit USC ID#, Gender, and Ethnicity. Please have this material prepared before beginning this application.
Other Opportunities of Note
- Research Grants to Benefit Individuals With Autism
- Funder: Brain Foundation
- Description: The primary focus of this grant opportunity is fostering basic and interdisciplinary translational research that leads to the development of effective therapeutics to mitigate the core disabilities in autism, and improve the functioning of individuals with autism spectrum disorder. This includes research leading to breakthroughs in understanding and characterization of pathophysiology of autism, basic research, discovery of biomarkers and therapeutic targets for one or more core symptoms, drug repurposing and development of novel drug compounds, devices, and other related areas.
- Grant amount: Up to $180,000 over two years. No IDC permitted.

- Safe Clean Water Grants
- The second deadline to submit applications for the Safe Clean Water Grants Program is Friday, January 31, by 6pm.If you would like your application to be reviewed during this second evaluation period, please time your submission accordingly. Otherwise, you may submit any time prior to May 31st, 2025.
