New Nominations
- Congratulations to Morgan Polikoff (Rossier) for being nominated to submit for the IES Predoctoral Training Grant in Education Sciences. This slot was granted on a first-come, first-served basis by Research Initiatives and Infrastructure as the LOI deadline was extremely tight (December 12th, 2024).
New Limited Submissions
- Please find below two limited submissions, one of which is time-sensitive, for your perusal and distribution. Links to each opportunity are below:
- (1) HRSA-25-070: Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP)
- (2) CDC RFA-IP-25-111: National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases(time-sensitive)
- Process for Limited Submissions: PIs must submit their application as a Limited Submission through the Research Initiatives and Infrastructure Application Portal: https://rii.usc.edu/oor-portal/. PIs must create their own SurveyMonkey account in order to proceed with submission. Materials to submit include:
- (1) Two-Page Proposal Summary (1” margins; single-spaced; font type: Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman, or Georgia typeface; font size: 11 pt). Page limit includes references and illustrations. Pages that exceed the 2-page limit will be excluded from review.
- (2) CV – (5 pages maximum)
- Note: The portal requires information about the PIs in addition to department and contact information, including the 10-digit USC ID#, Gender, and Ethnicity. Please have this material prepared before beginning this application.
Other Opportunities of Note
- Please find below more information about the International Balzan Foundation Prize, which will be awarding prizes in four subjects: (1) Classics: Athenian Democracy Revisited; (2) History of Contemporary Art; (3) Atoms and Ultra-Precise Measurement of Time; and (3) Gene and Gene-Modified Cell Therapy.

- Neuroscience and Society Grants
- Funder: Dana Foundation
- LOI Priority Deadline: January 31, 2025
- Grant Amount: $150,000 for a period of up to 18 months
- Description of Funding Opportunity: Support for pilot experiential education programs in Neuroscience & Society for graduate students in neuroscience, the humanities, social sciences, law, medicine, and other relevant fields. Programs should combine science and non-science approaches to equip students to think deeply about neuroscience and associated ethical, legal, and societal issues.
