New Nominations:
- Congratulations to Ellis Meng (Viterbi) and Mengyuan Li (Viterbi) for their nominations to NSF 24-608: Safety, Security, and Privacy of Open-Source Ecosystems (Safe-OSE)!
- Congratulations to Jennifer Tsui (Keck) for her nomination to the NIH’s RFA-CA-25-009 Scaling-up and Maintaining Evidence-based Interventions to Maximize Impact on Cancer (SUMMIT)- Lung Cancer Screening (UG3/UH3 Clinical Trial Required).
New Limited Submissions:
- Please find below three limited submissions, two of which are time-sensitive, for your perusal and distribution. Links to each opportunity are below:
- (1) 2025-NIST-CHIPS-NAPMP-01: National Advanced Packaging Manufacturing Program (NAPMP) Advanced Packaging Research and Development (R&D) (time-sensitive)
- (2) HRSA-25-068: Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Professionals
- (3) RFA-DP-25-041: Connecting Organizations and People to Empower Diabetes Prevention and Treatment (Connections) (time-sensitive)
- Process for Limited Submissions: PIs must submit their application as a Limited Submission through the Research Initiatives and Infrastructure Application Portal: https://rii.usc.edu/oor-portal/. PIs must create their own SurveyMonkey account in order to proceed with submission. Materials to submit include:
- (1) Two-Page Proposal Summary (1” margins; single-spaced; font type: Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman, or Georgia typeface; font size: 11 pt). Page limit includes references and illustrations. Pages that exceed the 2-page limit will be excluded from review.
- (2) CV – (5 pages maximum)
- Note: The portal requires information about the PIs in addition to department and contact information, including the 10-digit USC ID#, Gender, and Ethnicity. Please have this material prepared before beginning this application.
Other Opportunities of Note:
- Rita Allen Foundation Scholars Award in Pain
- Description: Supports innovative research that focuses on basic science mechanisms of pain. Proposed research projects should be directed toward investigating the molecular biology of pain and/or basic science topics related to developing new analgesics for managing pain.
- Application Deadline: December 11, 2024
- Amount: $150K over 3 years
- Eligibility:
- Have received committed start-up funds and independent laboratory space from USC.
- Be within three years of the start date of a tenure track position.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the field of pain research and evidence of distinguished achievements or extraordinary promise in basic science research in pain.
